Project Completion Report: Queanbeyan Federation Star Garden

Queanbeyan Council has recently completed a project where they are created a 7 point federation star as a feature garden. The garden is now open for the public to enjoy.

The council has chosen to use the Skemah 77a steel edging in a pre-rusted finish. Given the versatility of the Skemah edging this product was the perfect choice for the project. Being a stockist Moodie Outdoor Products was able to supply the materials for the project instantaneously.

Skemah shares in Grand Designs Live Gold

Moodie Outdoor Products would like to congratulate both Skemah and Stephen Read Landscape Design as they shared in the gold medal for best ‘Garden Design’ at the 2014 Grand Designs Live show in Melbourne.

The garden designed by Stephen Read utilised the Abilitybox panels in both Corten and Galvanised steel to produce a feature wall as the backdrop for the display garden. Skemah’s Corten garden edging was also used to surround the entire display garden.

X-Last the choice for Newcastle CBD

Newcastle City Council has recently completed the installation of a number of X-Last Gorge model bollards to line the streets of the CBD and to feature at the front of the War Memorial.

The X-Last range of bollards are a rigid but fully flexible-recoverable design. This makes them the perfect choice for traffic and parking areas where a high volumes of traffic are anticipated.

With Newcastle City Council anticipating a number of impacts to the bollards the small initial premium paid (over traditional metal or timber bollards) is quickly recovered when the impacted bollards rebound to the fully upright position rather than having to replace or repair the impacted bollard. The photo below shows a bollard that has been impacted numerous times but standing in the upright position.

In areas where temporary access is required the removable type of bollard has been installed. Council chose to include the severe impact ring during installation to ensure long lasting durability of the bollards.

The Gorge model of bollard is available in 80mm or 100mm diameter and is available in a range of heights. The bollard is available as a permanent fixture or to work with a removable base. Clients also have the choice to include the reflective tape to aid in night time visibility.

Product Focus: Roocycle Enviro Decking

Exclusive to Moodie Outdoor Products is the Roocycle Enviro range of WPC Decking. Roocycle Enviro has been designed with a profile to provide 2 different surfaces. Choose between the smooth face and the rippled face depending on your application.

Our products have been professionally slip tested using the Wet Pendulum Slip Resistance Testing methods according to Australian Standard AS/NZS 4586:2004. The rippled side of the decking has a slip resistance rating of BPN 52 Class W (perpendicular to the ripples) and BPN 33 Class Y (parallel to the ripples). The smooth side of the decking has a slip resistance rating of BPN 40 Class X. This is one of the highest slip results for WPC materials and makes the product suitable for external colonnade, walkway and pedestrian crossings recommend 45-54 BPN or Class W.

Project Completion: Skemah Garden Edging
